Qualifications for Membership
Member
The key date governing membership of The Association is October 31, 1876, the date of the abolition of the Canterbury Provincial Council, and so of Canterbury as a separate entity within New Zealand.
Those qualified for membership are:
[a] Those descended from a person who lived in Canterbury on or before October 31, 1876
[b] The husband or wife of a person who is qualified on the above criteria.
Associate Member
Those qualified for Associate membership are other interested parties who do not meet the above criteria.
Subscriptions
$25 per member and also per Associate, per year.
The financial membership year runs from April 1 to March 31 in the following year.
How to become a Member
Download the Membership Form, fill it out and post it with your subscription ($25) to:
Canterbury Pilgrims & Early Settlers Association, c/- 52 Quaifes Road, Halswell, Christchurch 8025.
Or make your payment to our bank account: BNZ, Account number:
Make sure you put your full name in the ‘Reference’ field and the word Subscription in the ‘Particulars’ field.
If you make payment via the bank account, you still need to send your membership form to the above address, or alternatively email it to: secretary@canterburypilgrims.nz
This is so we can match your payment to your membership form, and it lets us know a little bit about you.

Badges
Do you have a Canterbury Pilgrims & Early Settlers Association badge?
They are just $5 and are available from the secretary or at our meetings.
