On Sunday 30th August 2020 a dedication of the Mariners Bell Tower on the grounds of St Saviours at Holy Trinity, Westminster St, Lyttelton was held.
In attendance was the family of the late Captain John Cleaver who instigated the project with a generous donation in Cpt Cleaver’s memory and the many others involved in the planning, fundraising and construction of the tower. The church bells, brought to NZ in the 1800s ring out across the harbour as we celebrate the project’s completion.
